Misty Aleska Releases Second Single, "Numb"
New release is from the acclaimed debut album.
Providence, RI, September 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Misty Aleska and Big Noise are pleased to announce the release of the second single, 'Numb,' from her debut album 'Only Silence,' which took her music and passion from the solitary of her small town in Southern Utah to the ears of the Grammys.
In 2015, Misty Aleska was placed by The Recording Academy on their Official Ballot for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in multiple categories including Best Rock Performance for 'Dare I Say?,' Best Rock Song for 'These Ties' and Best Rock Album for 'Only Silence.'
She has worked with Big Noise for artistic and career direction, and publicity and marketing since 2014.
Being recorded by two different engineers, 'Only Silence,' has been tweaked to perfection. John Houston from Hurricane Utah worked on a majority of the album. "This was one of the best experiences of my life," Misty explains, "John and I clicked immediately. The energy and the creativity that went into recording each song was so exciting. Every guitar track I laid down, every vocal and back up was almost effortless due to the enthusiasm."
Zach Alvey, a long time friend and multi-instrumentalist wrote and played the drums on the album. The tracks were sent to Brian Grella in Salt Lake City where the percussion was recorded and the final mix was completed on the album.
Ironically, the new single 'Numb' was the first song that Misty ever wrote. At twelve years old, almost 17 years ago, she wrote the first guitar riffs for the song. Sometime, 10 years later, she finally had reached the moment in her life where she knew she could finish and pay tribute to a simple tune she had kept with her all these years.
"During this time in my life, I was soul searching and in a sense waking up. Lyrically this reflects the age I finally let go." When the album was finished, she wasn't sure 'Numb' was going to make the cut. "It definitely exposes my mellow side, something I wasn't sure I wanted to be identified with. I would rather be the girl behind the loud guitar and tenacious lyrics. This song is no doubt the black sheep on the album."
2015 is the beginning of a new chapter for Misty Aleska's music. This will be the year she breaks into the social media world and invites her fans into her life. Here they can follow her in creating her new album and kept up-to-date with her upcoming shows.
