Panera Bread Sponsors Coach Yow’s New Children’s Book
Panera Bread has sponsored the recent release of North Carolina State University Women’s Head Basketball Coach Kay Yow’s children’s book titled “Coach Yow: I will, Not Just I’ll Try.” The book aims to teach children life lessons.
Durham, NC, December 09, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Continuing their longstanding relationship with N.C. State University athletics, Panera Bread has once again teamed up with Kay Yow, head coach of the women’s basketball team, as sponsor of her recently released children’s book titled “Coach Yow: I Will, Not Just I’ll Try.” Targeted to youth, ages 6-12, the book aims to teach life lessons based on Coach Yow’s coaching career and her inspirational battle with breast cancer.
“We’re proud to sponsor the publication of Coach Yow’s book,” said Casey Bastian, vice president of operations for area Panera Bread locations. “The determination she has shown throughout her career and her battle with breast cancer has been an inspiration to so many.”
Panera’s sponsorship of Coach Yow’s book solidifies a relationship that has grown in recent years. Yow has served two years as honorary chair of Panera’s Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign that has raised over $18,000 for breast cancer awareness in that time. In addition, 2008 will mark the second year that Panera has sponsored the “Hoops for Hope” game that raises money for breast cancer awareness.
“Panera Bread continues to give back to the Triangle community,” said Yow. “I cherish the relationship that we’ve built together.”
Over the next several weeks, Coach Yow will be visiting the following area locations to sign copies of her book:
• Dec. 7 at the N.C. State Bookstores from 5:30-7 p.m.
• Dec. 8 at the GoPack Store in the Crabtree Valley Mall from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
• Dec. 14 at Quail Ridge Bookstore in Raleigh beginning at 7 p.m.
• Dec. 15 at the N.C. State vs. South Carolina State men’s basketball game at the RBC Center from 1:45-2:30 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds from “Coach Yow: I Will, Not Just I’ll Try” will be donated to the battle against breast cancer in Coach Yow’s name. Copies of can be purchased at the N.C. State Bookstore, the Go Pack Store at the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh and at GoPack.com.
