Ram's LaRoi Glover Teams Up with Edward Jones to Host Gridiron Holiday Spree for Local Youth
St. Louis, MO, December 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis Rams’ All Pro Defensive Tackle LaRoi Glover teams up with financial wizards Edward Jones to host the Gridiron Holiday Shopping Spree for local youth on December 10th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Target in Brentwood, Missouri. Invited youth participants are “little brothers and sisters” from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, where Glover serves as spokesperson.
His involvement as spokesperson prompted him to purchase a VIP luxury suite at the Edward Jones Dome so Big Brothers and Big Sisters could bring their “littles” to enjoy Rams home games. Glover also took that commitment to the next level by becoming a Big Brother himself to ten year old Ronald, who will be by his side helping host the Gridiron Holiday Spree.
The festivities will kick off with a tour of the Rams facility, followed by a photo session with Glover and Rams teammates, and a snack prior to loading buses for a fun trip to Target. Each “little”will receive a $120 target gift card, commemorative t-shirt and a Russell backpack filled with items from the NFL, Rams, Edward Jones and Target.
Glover, one of the Rams team captains who’s veteran leadership has made a tremendous impact on the team has enlisted the support of the following teammates who will be on hand to assist him in the shopping spree: O.J. Atogwe, Dominique Byrd, Donnie Jones, Todd Johnson, Corey Chavous, James Hall, Trevor Johnson, Clifton Ryan, Darius Vinnett, Jonathan Wade, Chris Draft, Dustin Fry, Brandon Gorin and Nick Leckey.
The six time pro bowler recently received the St. Louis Rams Walter Payton Man of the Year honor, and the Cartier Player of Excellence award for his commitment to giving back. And although he is appreciative of the accolades, Glover gives from his heart and feels it is his responsibility as a professional athlete to support his community.
