Ensuring Employees Eat Healthier is a Goal of the Corporate Health & Wellness Association
Orlando, FL, September 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Many companies are concerned with the health of their employees. Employers are providing employees with wearable fitness trackers or are sponsoring gym memberships for their employees to ensure they are active through the day. But exercise is only one dimension of what it means to be well. What you eat has a profound impact on your health, focus and ability to perform your best while at work. It is for this reason that employers are focusing more and more on what they offer their employees to eat.
Healthy food in the workplace is more than just offering a salad in the cafeteria. Some employers offer full healthy menus at subsidized prices to help employees make the better choices. Others have removed the candy and potato chips from their vending machines, replacing them with healthy options. Helping employees eat healthier can be a complicated system.
To help employers with this emerging trend, the Corporate Health & Wellness Association is hosting the 4th Annual Healthy Foods in the Workplace Forum. This will be a roundtable discussion to bring employers together to network and share what works in helping employees make smarter decisions about their food. Attendance to the forum is by invitation only and will include a complimentary healthy breakfast. The forum will take place September 28 at 7:00 am, and will be part of the 7th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress.
“More and more, employers are beginning to realize that offering employees healthy food is beneficial to the company’s bottom line,” said Renee-Marie Stephano, President of the Corporate Health & Wellness Association. “By investing in all aspects of the health of their employees, employers can create a happier for effective workforce. By spreading this message through the Health Foods in the Workplace Forum and involving employers in the discussion, we can move this concept forward and improve the lives of workers and their families.”
The 4th Annual Healthy Foods in the Workplace Forum is sponsored by Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care.
