The First Annual Milwaukee Man Dinner - Beef, Bourbon & Brandy Event Successfully Raises Funds for Milwaukee Rescue Mission's "Safe Harbor" Program
Milwaukee, WI, September 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Friday, September 11, 2015, Milwaukee's iconic Five O'Clock Steakhouse hosted the first annual Milwaukee Man Dinner - Beef, Bourbon & Brandy Benefit.

The event raised more than $1300 for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission "Safe Harbor" Program, which provides refuge and emergency assistance for local men in crisis through shelter, counseling, education & job resources.

Dan Ryan of The Milwaukee Rescue Mission spoke poignantly of the men who have passed through the program. Each table included a photo of a man the program has helped, putting a real face to the purpose of the night.

Luke Merwin of Badger Liquors and James Zellmer of Copper Kings highlighted each of the five courses and with entertaining facts about the cocktail pairings. Zellmer relayed a story of how they play rock music in the cellars in order to ensure the highest quality Brandy.

Crowd favorites of the night included the "Bradford Beach" cocktail of Basil Hayden's, muddled cucumber, fresh grapefruit, bitters & simple syrup. Five O'Clock's legendary Copper King's Brandy Old Fashioned Press was also a standout pairing to the house smoked baby-back ribs and Delmonico steak. Stir Cocktail Lounge provided the signature bitters which added a distinct flavor to several of the cocktails.

"We were thrilled at the response to this inaugural, sold-out event," said Stelio Kalkounos, Managing Partner of Five O'Clock Steakhouse. "The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is 100% supported by fundraising and gives shelter to up to 290 men a night. MRM has an important local impact and we look forward to partnering with the organization in the future."

The dinner ended fireside with cigars, cognac and Copper King's Brandy Old Fashioned Truffles on Five O'Clock's newly remodeled patio.

Guests enjoyed live music by Christopher's Project in The Alley Cat Lounge following the dinner.
