Scottish Parliamentarian Backs 2007 Christmas Appeal
Scottish parliamentarian Richard Lochhead today gave his backing to Trees for Life's 2007 Christmas Appeal when he visited the award-winning charity's offices in Findhorn Bay.
Findhorn Bay, Scotland, United Kingdom, December 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Moray MSP Richard Lochhead today gave his backing to Trees for Life's 2007 Christmas Appeal when he visited the award-winning charity's offices in Findhorn Bay.
The parliamentarian met staff and volunteers and found out more about Trees for Life’s internationally acclaimed work restoring Scotland’s Caledonian Forest including its Christmas Appeal which allows people to buy dedicated trees or groves of trees as Christmas gifts.
”Let's remember that while Christmas is a time to enjoy ourselves, we should also recognise the importance of the environment, and in doing so, we should attempt to restore the earth's resources.
“A tree or a grove of trees is a meaningful and lasting gift, and a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas. The Caledonian Forest is Scotland's equivalent of a rainforest, and its restoration will benefit people and wildlife for generations to come,” said Richard Lochhead.
Trees for Life's Founder and Executive Director Alan Watson Featherstone said: “I’d like to thank Richard for his support. Every single tree bought will make a real difference to the return of this ancient and beautiful Highland forest.”
A single tree with an A4 frameable personalised certificate costs just £15. A grove of eight trees costs £50, including a certificate and a personalised Grove Web Page on the Trees for Life website at http://www.treesforlife.org.uk/groves/. Certificates for orders received before 10 December will arrive before Christmas.
