Mr. Root has planned an informative presentation in which he will share the findings of Chi’s renowned 14th Annual Comprehensive National Laboratory Outreach Survey. The survey results shed light on key trends and issues vital to the clinical laboratory outreach market, including revenue and volume growth, IT capabilities, and sales and marketing priorities. An exclusive analysis of the survey findings will provide insight into the battle for market share in an increasingly competitive landscape and consider opportunities for growth at a time of upheaval for health systems.

James Root, MBA has extensive experience in general and sales/marketing management for hospital and independent laboratories. Mr. Root is the co-founder and previous CEO of Chi Laboratory Systems, Inc. where he oversaw a staff of 50 serving the consulting and management needs of laboratories across the United States. Earlier positions in his career included Managing Director of MetPath (U.K.) Ltd., London, England; National Sales Manager and General Manager of the Eastern Sales and Service Region for MetPath; Vice President, Sales & Marketing and General Manager, Eastern Region for Lancet Laboratories; and Vice President, Sales & Marketing for United Medical Laboratories (Portland, Oregon). Mr. Root earned his MBA degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, New Jersey. His current consulting activities include laboratory outreach market opportunity assessment, reviewing the adequacy of the sales and marketing function for laboratory organizations, business model consulting, and laboratory valuation assessment.
