Thousand Oaks, CA, October 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- TITLE Boxing’s General Manager Lisa Oliver announced today that they have joined forces with U.C.A.A.N to host a unique FUNdraising event!
On October 30th U.C.A.A.N Punch-Cancer-in-the-Face! At TITLE Boxing Club in Newbury Park. Cost is $10 donation at the door for non-members. The Main Event will feature a 30 minute cancer smashing group boxing workout and a chance to go toe-to-toe in the ring with their professional trainers for an additional donation of $5.00 for every 2 minutes you can punch, kick, and scare the hell out of cancer (it’s almost Halloween, after all). So, put on a scary costume, grab your family and friends, and join! Music, food, drinks, prizes, and lots of surprises, too!
“When we learned about U.C.A.A.N, an amazing organization that directly supports local cancer survivors through an all volunteer network, we knew we had to get involved. I’m a big believer in helping people in our community, especially in my business. Our 2-year anniversary is right around the corner, and just happens to be during cancer awareness month! So it was a no-brainer that we had to create a unique FUNdraising event during this month that recognizes not only victims of Breast Cancer, but other traumatic cancers, as well.”
100% of proceeds go to U.C.A.A.N (United Cancer Advocacy Action Network) a Thousand Oaks based grass roots and award winning non-profit that bridges the gap between cancer patients and their immediate needs. “No patient is ever turned away,” says Rachel Shur, Founder and 2-time terminal cancer survivor. “As a survivor, I understand the difficult journey from a devastating diagnosis to having your life turned upside down. It’s hard dealing with major life changes like loss of independence and financial security, and just basic day-to-day living. I was fighting hard but also experiencing a lack of assistance for my immediate needs. Due to the struggle I personally faced, I became an advocate for those who didn’t know where to turn...and started UCAAN. We personally guide patients to the resources they need nationwide because we truly care. Even though we’ve been recognized by the President of the United States, we still need the support of our community to continue to grow and reach others!”
“We’re so excited to partner with our area’s only 1,000 calorie burning Boxing and Kickboxing fitness program for all fitness levels regardless of ability, age, shape, and size. I understand that health is the most important thing in life, and at TITLE they are getting people in the best shape of their lives – healthier and stronger than they’ve ever been before! They’ve created a one-of-a-kind fitness community where members are supported, encouraged, and motivated by an elite group of Boxing trainers in a state-of-the-art facility like nothing I’ve ever seen. The vibe is inviting, electric, and most of all fun, so you just want to keep going. They even have one of the country’s most successful exercise programs for people with Parkinson’s Disease, along with a class for active seniors who aren’t ready to 'age gracefully.' They help people and we help people – that’s what every community needs," says Rachel. "So we hope you’ll join us on October 30th for this knock out event!"
