Porto of Raleigh Introduces "Vintage Porto!" Original, Handmade Jewelry
Raleigh, NC, December 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Just in time for the holiday gift season, Porto, a fine home furnishings store in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, is introducing “Vintage Porto!,” a new collection of hand-crafted jewelry by Porto co-owner Emily Barrett.
The collection of earrings and necklaces is inspired by vintage designs, according to Barrett. It features some vintage beads “and other finds,” she said, as well as pearls, crystal and wood beads, and sterling silver.
“I started making my own jewelry several years ago just for fun as a creative outlet,” she said. She decided to carry it in the Raleigh location because “I think it matches our design aesthetic. Anyone who enjoys the Porto style is going to like this jewelry line as well.”
Barrett and partner Michael Perry opened Porto in Raleigh’s North Hills three years ago when the shopping center was completely renovated and enlarged. The success of that location inspired them to expand into the Chapel Hill market, where they opened in Eastgate Shopping Center this past summer.
Porto has built a reputation for featuring high-end, handcrafted, heirloom-quality furnishings designed and manufactured by companies that exercise and promote sustainable forestry and sourcing practices, such as South Cone, a world leader in sustainable furniture.
“Vintage Porto!” brings a new dimension to the store’s collection of handcrafted accessories, which includes original barware, books, candles, frames, throw blankets and pillows, pottery and serving pieces.
Porto is located at 4151 Main at North Hills. Business hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Sunday from 1 - 6 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.portohome.com.
