Lou Jurkowski Named 2007 Women Extraordinaire
Raleigh, NC, December 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- BJAC, P.A., (www.bjac.com) has announced that Lou Jurkowski, chief executive officer, has been named a 2007 Women Extraordinaire by Business Leader magazine. The awards are presented annually to a select group of women who have made outstanding contributions to their professions, companies and the community. Jurkowski was honored along with the other 2007 award winners at a luncheon on Dec. 6 at North Ridge Country Club in north Raleigh.
Jurkowski founded BJAC in 1994, and the architectural design firm has offices in Raleigh and Charlotte. Under her guidance, BJAC has received numerous awards, including the Excellence in Universal House Design Award from the Governor’s Advocacy Council, the Home Renovation Award from Better Homes and Gardens, the Edge Award for Rural Architecture, the Anthemion Award, the Image Award for the Town of Garner-East Garner Middle School, the Community Appearance Award from the Raleigh Appearance Commission, the 2007 Golden Leaf Merit Award for the N.C. Museum of Life & Science, and a Bronze Citation in the American School & University Magazine’s 17th Annual Educational Interiors Showcase for Bondurant Hall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
