Flying Aviation Expo Presented by Scheyden
Palm Springs, CA, October 27, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Scheyden Precision Eyewear – a leader in performance eyewear proudly contributed to the overall success of the FLYING Aviation Expo presented by Scheyden the weekend of Oct. 15-17th in Palm Springs, CA.
The event kicked off on Thursday morning with the famous “Parade of Planes” where nearly 38 unique planes taxied from the Palm Springs International Airport to the Palm Springs Convention Center for display. Even with the rain, the show’s maximum number of allowed aircraft cruised down the street giving the spectators and residents of the city a breathtaking view.
The FLYING Aviation Expo held a silent auction in which Scheyden donated a True Aviator Steam Gauge timepiece and a pair of C-130 frames towards this year’s selected charity, Angel Flight West. The silent auction raised over twelve thousand dollars for the nonprofit organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for those with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs.
In addition, Scheyden partnered with the FLYING Aviation Expo in a giveaway for all eligible pre-registrants. The opportunity to win a True Aviator Steam Gauge timepiece assisted in drawing 5 times the number of pre-registrants as last year. Exhibitors were thrilled at the number of customers and attendees that filled the main hall during the 3 day event.
“The show is well on its way after only 2 years and our sales tripled from last year,” says Jeff Herold, Scheyden President. “Due to the quality of buyers in attendance, average daily sales equaled to that of a single day at OshKosh Airventure. We expect these numbers to continue to grow and the turnout to reach the magnitude of when the AOPA Aviation Summit was held in Palm Springs.”
Team Scheyden also presented the winner of their first video sweepstakes contest with a pair of Scheyden’s newest frames: The Waylite. The sweepstakes that ran from Sept. 15th through Friday, Oct. 9th randomly selected a lucky winner from those that visited Scheyden.com and entered to win by watching the thrilling video from the 2014 Catalina Air Show. The lucky winner, Charles Zabinski, an aviation enthusiast as well as an avid airshow attendee, says, “I was glad to get the call about winning and was excited I would be able to pick the sunglasses at the Expo.”
The Waylites are Scheyden’s first Fixed Gear Composite frame. The lightest and most comfortable frame in its category, The Waylite is a timeless style mixed with aviation specifications. The frames are now available in Black, Tortoise and Clear with grey and bronze 8-layer polarized or 7-layer non-polarized lens options. Rx Prescription is available upon request.
