Local Financial Advisor and Author Donates $7,000 to Charities
Columbia, MD, October 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Over the course of the last two years, Gary S. Williams, CFP® has donated a total of $7,000 to the Brigance Brigade (which raises funds to assist those with ALS), the Y of Central Maryland, Augie’s Quest (which funds ALS research), and the SPCA of Maryland. All profits from sales of his book, The Art of Retirement, are split among these charities.
"In 2012, I wanted to ‘do something different’ to raise money for charities. I decided to write a book about subject matter that I know well and give the profits to causes that mean the most to my family. It brings me tremendous gratitude to know that my efforts have created a well-read book and I am able to help these important charities,” Williams said.
The book uses Michelangelo’s art and his incredibly long and challenging life as a metaphor to compare the reader’s life to a masterpiece. “After reading The Art of Retirement, you will gain perspective to better understand the financial aspect of retirement, while also appreciating that retirement planning is more than how much money you have saved. A well-planned retirement will lead to a fulfilling life and legacy,” said Williams.
It’s easier than ever to get started on planning your retirement because the book is now on sale for just $12 at The Art of Retirement website www.TheArtofRetirement.org. Here you can also learn more about the book and the author, browse the blog, and contact Gary. It’s also on sale at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com for $16.10, and it’s available as a Kindle or Nook version for $5.99.
