Donating Without Objectives Can Leave Contributors Feeling Discontent Says Ephraim Global Report
Only 2 out of 10 donors have a clear set of objectives to guide their charitable giving.
Tokyo, Japan, October 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The report reveals that only 43% of donors are content with the observable results of their philanthropic contributions while only 21% consider that their giving is actually making a difference.
“A large part of our donors are planning to extend their commitment to charity in the coming years, with fully employed contributors in their 50’s stating that they are already actively preparing to increase their charitable activities in the future,” said Hajime Fujiharu, Chief Operating Officer at Ephraim Global. “Having definite objectives in order to guide one’s philanthropic efforts can enhance the effects of their contributions and improve donor confidence and satisfaction. Additionally charitable organizations can cooperate with these donors in order to achieve long-term goals.”
The report’s results reveal that most of the individuals which are active contributors already have preferences set in place, with 71% of the respondents stating they already know which charitable organizations they will support and 56% already know the sum they will contribute with. From a gender-based point of view, women (32%) are far more likely to have a plan that will guide their philanthropic endeavors as opposed to their male counterparts (24%).
Furthermore, 66% of fully employed donors in their 50’s have stated that they are preparing to involve themselves in charitable activities in the next 5 to 10 years, compared to 39% of all the respondents. Also, retired individuals are more probable to increase their charitable efforts and the time they dedicate to such endeavors than individuals which are fully employed.
