The Greater Somerset Public Health Partnership’s Annual Meeting

Bedminster, NJ, October 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Greater Somerset Public Health Partnership is a collaboration of local health departments and other community health organizations, serving New Jersey’s greater Somerset county area. The Partnership will hold its Annual Meeting, which is open to the public, at Cancer Support Community Central NJ (CSCCNJ) located at 3 Crossroads Drive, Bedminster, NJ 07921. The annual meeting is from 5 pm -7 pm and there will be wine and light refreshments. Cancer Support Community is a community partner of The Greater Somerset Public Health Partnership.

Today, immunotherapy is one of the most exciting areas of new discoveries and treatments for many different kinds of cancer. Researchers now know that the interaction between our immune system and cancer is very complex. Understanding how the immune system works is opening the doors to developing new treatments that are changing the way we think about and treat cancer. This year, the featured topic will be a presentation of Cancer Support Community’s Frankly Speaking about Cancer: Your Immune System and Cancer Treatment. The speaker will be Janice Mehnert, MD, Medical Oncologist, Director, Phase 1/Investigational Therapeutics, Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ.
