Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Selects Brüel & Kjær Airport Noise Monitoring Solution

China’s second-busiest airport chooses ANOMS to manage its noise impact and enhance community engagement.

Sydney, Australia, October 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Brüel & Kjær today announced that Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (GBIA) will implement ANOMS as a key component of its expansion plans and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

GBIA is the second-busiest airport in China and a major international hub between Asia and Europe. The rapidly growing airport handles more than 395,000 aircraft movements and 54 million passengers annually.

ANOMS (Airport Noise and Operations Management System), the world’s leading aircraft noise monitoring system, assists more than 220 airports around the world with their noise abatement processes and community outreach efforts. Using best practices, the sophisticated solution helps airports operate more efficiently and nurture their social license for sustainable growth.

As part of its scalable ANOMS system, GBIA will deploy 22 noise monitoring terminals, weather integration and air traffic control recording. Installation is scheduled to complete in mid-2016.

“Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a great example of how leading airports are going beyond measuring their noise impact. At GBIA, ANOMS will also play an integral role in providing data insights that help the airport build community trust in order to achieve its business goals today – and in the future,” said Airports Product Manager Matthew Barry. “We’re delighted to partner with GBIA and demonstrate our continuing commitment to China’s expanding aviation market.”

GBIA joins China’s busiest airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, as an ANOMS customer. Together, the two airports have nearly 1 million aircraft movements and shift more than 140 million passengers yearly.
