The Golden Fleece Foundation, a Brooks Brothers Charity, Presents $3,000 to the New Interdisciplinary School
Yaphank, NY, October 31, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The New Interdisciplinary School (NIS), an innovative early childhood learning center in Yaphank, NY that serves typically developing and developmentally delayed students from birth to age five, was awarded $3,000 from The Golden Fleece Foundation, a Brooks Brothers charity. This donation was made possible due to the efforts put forth by Jennifer Marmorato and Jenelle Gadagno, Manager and Assistant Manager of the Huntington location of Brooks Brothers, who nominated NIS as a recipient of funding for the Golden Fleece Foundation Community Challenge initiative.
The generous donation was used to purchase a Sensory Rover unit, which is a four foot bubble tube with light displays, music and aromatherapy. This apparatus offers calming input or sensory stimulation, depending on the child’s needs. It is beneficial to all of the students at NIS, particularly those on the Autism spectrum, and those with behavioral or sensory issues. This mobile unit will allow teachers and therapists to provide students with the sensory input they require without leaving their classroom, which is oftentimes a difficult task for children who have a tough time transitioning, particularly when they are upset about something.
“We are greatly appreciative of the donation awarded to us by the Golden Fleece Foundation, and of the philanthropic outreach put forth by the management of the Brooks Brothers store in Huntington. Their commitment to ensuring all of the students at our school are happy and reaching their full potential is extremely admirable and appreciated by all of the students, staff and families at NIS,” said Susan Cali, NIS Director of Development.
The New Interdisciplinary School is an innovative early childhood learning center that respects the unique needs of all children and their families.
