Arkansas Haunt Springs Event Continues to Grow
The seventh year of the Haunt Springs downtown trick-or-treating event continues to grow in scope, thanks to its donors and supporters.
Hot Springs, AR, November 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The weather may have been a bit drizzly, but that didn’t stop scores of costumed trick-or-treaters from descending on downtown Hot Springs in search of candy, fun, and costume contest prizes. In addition to the usual attractions of local businesses handing out treats, face painting, and such, some new additions made the event even bigger than previous years.
Star Wars style Storm Troopers from Galaxy Connection were in attendance for photo opportunities with little ones. There was also a riveting Snow White themed performance by the teen hip hop dance group from Ingemi's Ultimate Studio. Like in previous years, however, the main event was the costume contest with prizes for all donated from local businesses and individuals, including a grand prize of a 19.1-inch Android tablet donated by Hot Springs YMCA personal trainer and ElanStrong operator Elan McAfee.
The event, founded and spearheaded by Doc Cline, began seven years ago as a small gathering of a few hundred children and has expanded each year – rain or shine – to be one of the largest downtown events in Hot Springs. The National Park Service often participates with educational programs on the park side of Central Avenue, opposite the candy-distributing businesses, and the Boozefighters Motorcyle Club always arrives to escort children and adults safely across the street.
