KC Event Synopsis
The increased adoption of convergent technologies by businesses predominantly is driven by the need to improve efficiency, collaboration, and service. The continuing demand from employees for mobile and more flexible working practices also plays a part.
However, there are still many business owners who fail to see the value of mobile device security because they believe that allowing employees to bring-your-own-device (BYOD) does not pose a threat to the company. A recent study suggests that two-thirds of business owners and employees now use personal mobile devices for work, and that 92% of respondents say they keep sensitive corporative data on smartphones and tablets which they use for work and personal use.
This perception makes companies more vulnerable to exploitation by employees and concomitantly by cyber-criminals and competitors. Theft or loss of a corporately connected mobile device has legal and financial consequences. A study revealed that one in five mobile users experienced a mobile 'threat' in 2014. This implies that BYOD protection is a critical security issue for corporations and their employees.
A panel of thought leaders and practitioners assembled by The Knowledge Group will help firms better understand why Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) Risks Remain a significant threat to most corporations and suggest how your firm can implement effective policies, procedures, and security to ensure the safety of corporate intellectual property, data, and employee monitoring and control while remaining compliant with existing laws.
Key topics include:
- Significant BYOD Trends
- Managing Concerns
- Data Security
- Data Privacy
- Legal Risk
- Compliance Risk
- Major Opportunities
- Best Practices in BYOD Adoption and Security
