Arekibo Scoops Second Award in Four Weeks
Dublin, Ireland, November 05, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Renowned Irish digital strategy consultancy Arekibo has won the eir spider digital agency of the year for 2015 this follows on from their recent award for Best in Universal Design Award at the 2015 Net Visionary awards for the new Electric Ireland website.
Established in 1996, the eir Spiders are now in their 20th year making them the longest standing and most prestigious internet awards in Ireland. They reward Irish businesses and community organisations for their creativity and innovation and provide an important opportunity to recognise and showcase online excellence.
The eir Spider awards are considered an important benchmark for distinction and excellence in web-based business strategies. Previous winners have been on the cutting edge of their chosen fields and have since gone onto great success in their respective industries.
The Net Visionary Best in Universal Design Award was introduced to recognise and celebrate the best of Irish design 2015, this new award was supported and presented by the Centre of Excellence for Universal Design and the NDA. Chosen from all nominations across all categories, the new Electric Ireland site (www.electricireland.ie ) was selected as the most user-friendly website or application, delivering the highest levels of usability.
The winner of the inaugural Net Visionary Universal Design award stood out because they followed a clearly defined design process that has, as its centre, the needs of its users.
Eilish Logan from Electric Ireland was very happy the new site was recognised. “Arekibo shared our objective to ensure excellent site performance while delivering an engaging easy-to-use site. Our new mobile responsive website will play a very important role in helping our customers to engage effortlessly with us in a way that suits them,” she said.
Joan Mulvihill CEO of the Irish Internet Association added, “2015 is the Year of Design and the IIA understand the important role of web development agencies in ensuring that websites meet the very highest standards of Universal Design, which is to say accessibility for all. Through their work on Electric Ireland’s website, Arekibo were the standard bearers for design-thinking with the customer in mind. The very fact that Electric Ireland have the widest possible demographic of customers and that Arekibo developed their website to accommodate accessibility for that demographic, is a fantastic achievement and a very worthy winner.”
