Byxee on Display at Rimini Beach Mini Maker Faire 2015
The Byxee start-up will show to the public the first smart active safety device for two wheels, at Rimini Beach Mini Maker Faire (14 to 15 November).
Pesaro, Italy, November 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- One month after the public success in Rome, Byxee returns in the exhibition pavilions of the Maker Faire to present to the public its advanced vision system for two wheels. This technology uses artificial intelligence algorithms to scan the road ahead and identify irregularities and possible dangers. There will be on display all the prototypes of the device which incorporate this technology, up to the commercial product, sized as a small torch, which can be mounted on any bicycle handlebar.
The device has a mini-camera that scans the road up to a maximum distance of 25 meters, identifies possible dangers (holes, manhole covers, gratings, irregularities, markings, unexpected obstacles, open car doors, pedestrians, etc.) and alerts the driver beforehand with an acustic signal. The device is autonomous and portable, equipped with a rechargeable battery for 30 hours of use. It doesn’t require any connection and it doesn’t use GPS or preloaded maps. Byxee scans the road ahead in real time, hundreds of times a second to detect fixed and moving hazards that maps can't have recorded.
The event is affiliated to the "Maker Faire" circuit, a brand created in America, dedicated to the world of technological creativity. It’s owned by Maker Media, publisher of the magazine MAKE, spokesperson and reference point of the worldwide Makers movement. Organized all over the world, the Maker Faire events are dedicated to the "makers," a universal term that unites people of different backgrounds but who share an interest in invention and creative development.
Organized by Blu Nautilus srl, the Rimini Mini Maker Faire will occupy the spaces of Rimini Fiera, West entrance, pavilions A7-C7.
The Byxee start-up chose to participate to this Maker Faire event as a natural prosecution of the path begun in Rome, with the European edition. After two years of research and development supported by own resources, the start-up is now looking for investors who have the passion and the courage to invest in this technology, which has all the credentials to become a standard for the prevention of risks, injuries, accidents and vehicles’ damage for cyclists and motorcyclists.
