Atlantic Health Neuroscience Institute Continues Its Support of NJ Walks for TS at Mendham
Sixth annual 5k walk/run is November 14th.
Morristown, NJ, November 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) is proud to announce the Atlantic Health Neuroscience Institute as a continuing sponsor of the 6th annual NJ Walks For TS at Mendham on Saturday, November 14, a day set aside to stand up for acceptance, awareness and advocacy on behalf of children and families affected by Tourette Syndrome (TS) and other neurological disorders.
Based at Overlook Medical Center, the Institute's multidisciplinary staff diagnose and treat conditions such as neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors, concussions, stroke and epilepsy among many other neurological conditions. The donation of $1,000 will help the annual walk raise funds to support NJCTS's Education Outreach Program which trains doctors at hospitals across New Jersey, teachers and nurses at schools in every corner of the state, as well as conducting peer trainings and anti-bullying sessions on behalf of kids with TS. As many as 1 in 100 people express symptoms of TS, which means there are 20,000 school-age kids with TS in New Jersey alone.
Atlantic Health Neuroscience Institute is made of experts in adult and pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology and related fields to deliver world-class medical care in state-of-the-art facilities, including a neuroscience inpatient unit and specialty programs and centers.
“We grateful to have Atlantic Neuroscience Institute's continued support,” said NJCTS Executive Director Faith W. Rice. “Through NJ Walks for TS, we are making a remarkable difference in training professionals to identify and assist children with TS and its co-occurring disorders."
