Bishop Verot a Top 100 Finalist in State Farm’s Celebrate My Drive Contest

Bishop Verot Catholic High School among Top 100 finalists in State Farm grant competition.

Fort Myers, FL, November 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Bishop Verot Catholic High School is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a Celebrate My Drive Top 100 Finalist and is now eligible for a chance to win a $100,000 grant and a concert by the band Echosmith.

Celebrate My Drive is a program sponsored by State Farm Insurance encouraging teen drivers to drive “2N2,” a simple habit of two eyes on the road and two hands on the wheel. This can help reduce distracted driving and help new drivers build confidence on the road at the same time.

Last month, schools from across the country submitted entries consisting of a 500-word write-up, photo and/or short video stating how the school is involved with teen driving safety awareness and why the school deserves to win the contest. Entries were reviewed by a panel of judges and trimmed down to the top 100 entrants, 50 small high schools (750 or less students) and 50 large high schools (751 or more students).

Those 100 entries are now posted on the contest website,www.celebratemydrive.com, where the public can vote on the entries they deem to be the best. The top 11 vote-getters in the small school category and 11 in the large school category will be chosen as first prize winners and will each be awarded grants for $100,000. Voting is open now until Friday, November 13.

Those winning entries will then be judged by the band Echosmith to determine the Grand Prize winning school. The one school chosen as the Grand Prize winner will be awarded a private concert at the school with a performance by the band Echosmith.
