I’m Not a Monster Invites Communities to "Help Save Our Local Pets" with Its Nationwide Donation Drive to Benefit Homeless Pets
Rescued Dogs & Their Communities Paying It Forward, Collecting Toys, Blankets & Treats for Animals in 150 Shelters and Rescue Groups across the Country.
New York, NY, November 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- I'm Not a Monster asks communities across the country to join its Fourth Annual “Monster” Holiday Drive campaign as the holiday season approaches. The goal is to raise $500,000 in donated food, toys and other enrichment items to ensure the homeless pets waiting in shelters, rescues and boarding facilities can stay healthy and adoptable this holiday season and beyond.
With established partnerships with over 200 ambassadors, shelters, rescues and businesses in 2014, the campaign raised more than $422,000—a staggering 425% growth from the previous year. This year, ambassador, organization and community participation have risen considerably.
“We have 75 Monster Elves supporting 150 shelters and rescues—that’s more than 2 million caring animal lovers and advocates on social media. That’s huge, but shelters and rescues are experiencing greater need than ever before, and this drive can make a huge difference,” states Imelda Suriato, Founder of I’m Not a Monster. “We believe in our Monster Elves. We learned to never discount this group of rescued dogs and their humans because they have the biggest hearts and they inspire others to do good.”
The success from previous years showed that people want to be involved in improving animal welfare. Community members are invited to join and they can set up collection drives to benefit a local shelter or rescue group of their choice. The organization will provide promotion materials and information to continue making this the nation’s largest, crowd-sourced donation drive.
“Our mission is for this to be the Toys for Tots for animals in need, uniting the local communities in a common cause and shining a light on the plight of homeless animals across the U.S. and beyond.” Corporate partners have also come together for this worthwhile cause, from pet supplies companies such as Natural Balance, Earth Rated and KONG, to footwear brand Bzees.
“Everyone plays a part in making this a success, whether it’s donating a bag of dog food or asking your business to set up a donation box. Everything adds up and this is proof that anyone can make a difference.” Learn more at MonsterHolidayDrive.com.
