Announcing One-Click Parcel Logging with PackageLog™’s ScanCam™
After two-years of development, Logware® reveals the evolution of PackageLog™ with ScanCam™ at the National Multi Housing Council Operations Technology (NMHC OpTech) Conference in San Diego November 17-19, 2015.
Orlando, FL, November 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The new PackageLog™ ScanCam™ functionality is no basic feature upgrade. By taking a quick photo of the shipping label, ScanCam™ is capable of reading and understanding recipient names and unit numbers; it will test and verify, then log-in the parcel automatically.
The team at Logware® has been working for nearly two-years to find a solution that allows users to log packages without manually typing recipient names or requiring subscribers to buy peripheral devices to scan-in parcels. Logware® has long understood that using a barcode scanner (wired or wireless) simply tethers the user to one specific computer in their office, essentially creating a terminal. They sought to find a way that allows for simultaneous use by multiple users, without the need for additional equipment. Using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities, PackageLog™ subscribers can now ScanCam™ the label on any delivery and in milliseconds PackageLog™ will perform a number of tests, finding and verifying the recipient’s information, log-in the package and be ready to ScanCam™ again.
With online shopping at over $335 Billion for 2015 in the U.S alone, receiving parcel deliveries on the behalf of others is going to continue to be a challenge as inbound package delivery volume is predicted to increase exponentially. The Multifamily industry is no stranger to this dilemma as Millennials (who prefer shopping online) are more frequently renting than buying. This group shops almost exclusively online and makes conscious lease-signing decisions based on whether or not their future apartment community will accept their deliverie(s). Chelsea Burnett, Logware® Director of Client Services said, “Our clients from various industries have been asking if this was even possible, so we set out to find the answer. It’s exciting to see it come to reality.”
PackageLog™’s ScanCam™ development is the most advanced package management software solution. “We discussed getting into the locker business a few years ago, but still find it to have a lot of limitations in its current iteration. We plan to continue to innovate on the software side for now, implementing elements of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make your devices do all of heavy lifting,” said Gustavo Ortiz, Logware® Director of Software Operations.
Technology firms like Logware® continue to find ways to be a disruptive force in an ever-evolving tech economy where time and effort are treated as a negative currency. The Logware® Team wants to help give you back your time. “We have been working on this internal project for several years now and could have launched something a long time ago. But that 'something' would not have solved the 'only on that computer' problem… and that’s not what we do here. We explored 1D and 2D barcode systems, requiring users to buy specialized equipment, etc. In the long run, what we’re offering now, allows any user worldwide to access and use our software, including ScanCam™, instantaneously,” says Logware® CEO, Craig Meddin.
ScanCam™ will be available to all PackageLog™ users during the first week of December 2015.
