Music Technology Course to Start at NSC in September 2016
Oswestry, United Kingdom, November 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A new music technology course will be starting at North Shropshire College (NSC) in September 2016, the course will be held at Shropshire Council’s ‘The Centre’ on Oak Street. The Centre is a My Place funded Youth Centre built only 3 years ago, it has a well-equipped Recording Studio which is hired out to the public and managed for The Centre by local Community Interest Company, Fusion Arts Oswestry.
Shropshire Council and Fusion Arts Oswestry are collaborating with the College to provide the new BTEC Diploma in Music Technology. Jay Moore, founder of Fusion Arts Oswestry, teaches at local schools in the Oswestry area. Richard Adam, a founding member of Fusion Arts Oswestry, commented on the new course saying "Collaborating with the College is an amazing opportunity; the facilities here at The Centre are state of the art and being constantly updated. We are looking for anyone who has a passion for music or sound engineering to join this course. The Centre and Fusion Arts is all about working in the local community, helping people do something they enjoy that is productive."
Cllr Vince Hunt Chair of The Centre’s Management Committee said, "I am pleased to have been able to help organise this project as it delivers on all levels. It is an example of how three separate organisations can work together to deliver positive outcomes for young people whilst all benefitting. Working like this has to be the future way to get things done."
The new course is available as both a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification. There will be opportunities for trips and work placements; the course also serves as a progression route to University, studying Sound Engineering or other music related higher education qualifications. The course may serve as a pathway into mixing and mastering, DJ performance or studio design.
