Noninvasix Among Finalists in 2015 HITLAB World Cup℠ International Healthcare Competition
Houston, TX, November 21, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Of the more than 192 international teams that submitted innovative healthcare solutions, five companies, including Noninvasix, Inc., will compete for $18,000 in total prize money at the HITLAB World Cup℠ finals held at Columbia University in New York City, December 4.
Organized by New York City-based HITLAB®, the competition included entries spanning the healthcare spectrum from mobile health to diagnostic and medical device innovations. Submissions from 14 countries were reviewed for market feasibility, business sustainability, technology innovation and potential impact on health.
Noninvasix CEO Graham Randall, PhD, will showcase the company’s patient monitoring system that aims to make childbirth safer by determining how much oxygen a baby is receiving during active labor. Unlike ineffective fetal heart rate monitors, Noninvasix’s optoacoustic fetal sensor uses light and sound for direct, real-time monitoring of cerebral venous oxygenation in the fetus’ superior sagittal sinus, the main vein that drains the brain. By rapidly and accurately detecting the amount of oxygen a baby is receiving, obstetricians can take informed action for improved outcomes for both mother and child.
In addition to Noninvasix, the finalists selected to present their groundbreaking technologies before a panel of healthcare innovation experts at the 2015 HITLAB Innovators Summit℠ include:
Ceeable (Somerville, MA)

The Ceeable Visual Field Analyzer (CVFA) is a visual field test that can detect, classify, and monitor degenerative eye disease using only a tablet.
Homeward Healthcare (Toledo, OH)

HITLAB will fly a representative of each team to New York City to present their innovations at the HITLAB Innovators Summit and compete for the $10,000 Grand Prize. Additional prizes include a $5,000 second-place prize and a $3,000 third-place prize. The HITLAB World Cup℠ gives finalists 10 minutes for pitching followed by a five minute QA session.
