Jack is an Optimist Comes to Pierce Ball Gallery
This special day will feature a variety of works available for sale, some at very special pricing. In addition, Pierce Ball Gallery is showcasing an exciting new sculpture by Chris Plaisted - "Jack is an Optimist." The gallery is free, and open to the public.
Stamford, CT, November 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, November 28, 1 - 5pm, Pierce Ball Gallery will be open for a special art sale afternoon. A variety of works available for sale, some at special reduced pricing. Photography, sculpture, jewelry, paintings, prints and more will be on view and for sale.
The gallery will be showcasing a new sculpture by Chris Plaisted "Jack is an Optimist." This incredible piece can be seen from the road, standing over 20 feet tall, in steel, copper and aluminium. It captures the imagination and if the wind is right, it even moves!
"This imaginative towering, yet elegant piece soars skyward in a dramatic gesture of optimism befitting its name - Jack is an Optimist. We are delighted to showcase this sculpture among several other pieces by Plaisted," said Elizabeth Ball, Director of the Pierce Ball Gallery.
The Pierce Ball Gallery also features the paintings by two African Elephants, Thembi and Jabu, as part of the ongoing "Elephant Expressions" show. These elephants live in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. They are not the elephants you may have seen on TV doing paintings they were trained to do. These unique paintings are truly expressions of the elephants' own creative spirit. Pierce Ball Gallery just supplied the canvas, customized brushes and paints. Pierce Ball Gallery is the exclusive gallery for these magnificent works of art.
One painting by Jabu in particular has drawn tremendous interest with its hidden horse figures. Jabu has a particular interest in horses, as demonstrated a few years ago by his “walk about” to a nearby horse camp in Botswana.
