St. Petersburg, FL, November 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Shorecrest Preparatory School’s Guardian ad Litem Service Club has invited Ashley Rhodes-Courter, child advocate and author, to speak at the Janet Root Theatre at Shorecrest Preparatory School on November 30, 2015 at 7pm.
The event is free and open to the public. Seats are still available. Refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by the Shorecrest Preparatory School Guardian ad Litem Student Service Club with support from the Shorecrest Commmunity Association and the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay.
The Guardian ad Litem Service Club was started in 2014 by a group of 25 freshmen with the goal of learning about what Guardians ad Litem do and why they are needed, to teach others about the Guardian ad Litem Program, and to fundraise for the program. This year they raised nearly $1000 by running a dodgeball tournament for Shorecrest Preparatory School Middle School and Upper School students.
Ashley Rhodes-Courter’s speech kicks off the Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s Gift Drive, which collects holiday gifts and donations to give to children in the foster care system.
