Tony Brooks Releases "First of All" Celebrating the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Exhibition
Adelaide, Australia, November 26, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Author Tony Brooks (http://amzn.to/1I3AzXo) has timed the re-release of his cherished biographical novel about Catherine Helen Spence, "First of All" (http://bit.ly/1OYHrrx), to coincide with the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Exhibition (www.scottishdiasporatapestry.org), a celebration of Scottish emigration and cultural impact. A Scot by birth, Catherine Helen Spence rose to prominence in Australia to become one of the world’s leading voices for women’s suffrage and feminism.
Mr. Brooks, a distinguished novelist whose well-received works are sold worldwide, will also be participating in the Exhibition with a presentation on the life of Catherine Helen Spence on December 2nd at the Burnside Library(http://bit.ly/1NjcCxJ).
Tony Brooks
Born in England, Tony Brooks served in the Royal Navy, and then trained in education. He studied at the Institut Britannique and the Sorbonne in Paris, later becoming a primary school teacher and principal.
Migrating to Australia in 1971, he taught for 10 more years at all levels of primary school and as a tutor/lecturer at Murray Park CAE. He has a degree in Educational Drama, and his scripts have been performed on stage, radio and film in Australia and the United States.
He now lives in Plympton with his wife, Lyn, who is an artist and designer.
