FBI to Join DHS, NCTC, and DoD for Upcoming Border Security & Intelligence Summit

On January 26 – 27, 2016 in Alexandria, VA, senior leaders within DHS, the Intelligence Community, DoD, State Agencies, Industry and international partners will convene for two days of off the record briefings and informal discussions at Defense Strategies Institute’s "Town Hall" Border Security and Intelligence Summit. The focus will be on "Improving A Joint Approach to Intelligence Sharing & Operational Capabilities."

Washington, DC, December 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The security of our borders and Nation will continue to be tested by new and emerging threats. The U.S. borders (land, maritime, and air environments) cannot be effectively policed by a single DHS component or even a single governmental entity. A joint / layered / whole-of-government approach that leverages interagency and international partnerships as a force multiplier will continue to be the most effective way to secure the borders.

Understanding the emerging threats to our borders and national security is dependent on the collection, gathering, analysis and sharing of intelligence and information from a broad array of sources on a continual basis. Partnerships to share intelligence and information and operational capabilities, amongst the IC community, federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial law enforcement, international government agencies, and the private sector act as force multipliers towards protecting the Homeland.

“We have created a Summit that will bring together a variety of stakeholders in order to build out two days of discussion and debates that tackle many of the areas involved in enhancing effective and efficient intelligence sharing and operational capabilities amongst the border security community,” stated Monica Mckenzie, Senior Partner, Defense Strategies Institute.

DSI’s upcoming Summit recognizes that in a field such as border security and intelligence, where there are multiple agents acting in tandem, it is extremely important that all involved are working towards a cohesive and holistic approach.
