Grasshopper Adventures’ New Cycling Day Tour Explores the Mekong Delta on Two Wheels
Full day 30km bike tour of the Mekong Delta's workshops, markets and plantations, with return transfers to and from Saigon including lunch.
Saigon, Vietnam, December 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The "Mekong Delta in a Day" day tour is the latest addition to Grasshopper Adventures’ range of day tours in Southeast Asia.
Escape the bustle of Saigon to experience a region rich with tradition, picturesque scenery and the foods and flavours unique to southern Vietnam. A two hour transfer by private van takes cyclist to the start of the tour, from where they explore the region on rural pathways and canal-side tracks. An ideal area to explore by bike due the flat landscape, this is a highly achievable ride to anyone comfortable on a bike.
The Mekong Delta region is the "rice-basket" of Vietnam, but also home to local artisans and weavers. The tour takes visitors to see traditional workshops as well as farms, markets and even a cocoa plantation.
A delicious local lunch at a local house is included in the tour before a private boat trip on one of the river’s many channels and a return transfer to Saigon.
Clean drinking water, fruit and local snacks are provided throughout the tour and a support vehicle is on hand at regular intervals for those who feel like a break from riding.
