NY/NJ/CT Metropolitan Resilience Network Selects Swan Island Networks to Provide Situational Awareness Solution
Swan Island Networks' cloud-based software, TX360®, has been selected to construct and maintain a common operating picture for the public and private sector members of the NY/NJ/CT Metropolitan Resilience Network.
New York, NY, December 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Metropolitan Resilience Network (MRN), a new public/private alliance championed by the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, has selected Swan Island Networks to provide its situational awareness solution.
The MRN will use Swan Island’s cloud-based software, TX360®, to construct and maintain a common operating picture for its public and private sector members. The first pilot project was launched in September, during the Pope Francis visit to New York. MRN analysts partnered with Swan Island’s analysts to create and maintain a series of dashboards for the event. The dashboards, which featured public safety alerts, street-closure maps, social media monitoring, news headlines, current weather, and more, were shared with many of the MRN members in order to inform their operations and incorporate their feedback in real time.
“We used the MRN Papal visit dashboards in our emergency operations center, at a time when the region was facing an unprecedented security challenge,” said Maybelle Jadotte of Port Authority Office of Emergency Management. “They helped us monitor our region in a new way, which was extremely useful.”
“Working with Swan Island to build a new and dynamic kind of public/private collaboration has been exciting. Organizational agility and resilience are vital to both the public and private sectors going forward as increasing disruptions impact global cities and their metropolitan areas,” said Bill Raisch, Executive Director of the MRN. “We are confident that we are breaking new ground in establishing a global prototype for all cities committed to a resilient future.”
