“Beethoven designed his Missa Solemnis with grand performances in mind,” stated artistic director Greg Hobbs. “It is a complex work, requiring a much larger force both chorally and orchestrally. He thought Missa Solemnis to be one of his most significant works, writing on the final manuscript ‘From the heart – may it return to the heart.’”
Greg Hobbs is conductor of the Highland Park Chorale, music director of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, artistic director of the Highlander Concert Series and serves on the faculty of Southern Methodist University as conductor of the Meadows Concert Choir. Hobbs’ choral groups have performed throughout the United States and Europe in concert halls, historic cathedrals and sanctuaries including Carnegie Hall, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, the Caramoor Center, Wiener Konzerthaus, the Cathedral of Bern and the National Presbyterian Church.
