ExpoMarketing Announces Women in Business Scholarship Winners
ExpoMarketing, itself a women-owned business, launched the scholarship program as part of the company’s ongoing effort to lessen the cost of education for women who demonstrate high academic achievement, exceptional leadership qualities and involvement with community service.
Tustin, CA, December 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- ExpoMarketing LLC, a trade show booth rental and design company, announced the winners of its new “Women in Business” scholarship programs. As a women-owned business, the trade show display rental firm is committed to supporting its fellow women in the business sector.
This year ExpoMarketing awarded $1000 each in the graduate and undergraduate school awards. The winner of the graduate scholarship was Kanza Haider, 26, a marketing major at Stony Brook University. The undergraduate scholarship was awarded to Jordan Denny, 21-year old business undergraduate majoring in Human Resources at Boise State University.
Haider recalls the life-changing moment when she decided to pursue a career in business. While interning at a local cardiology hospital, she discovered she had the ability to solve business related problems and help the hospital run more efficiently and effectively.
Her Excel program demonstration for digital check-ins and checkouts was well received for its simple but effective functionality. Since then, Haider has developed a passion for entrepreneurship and business, something she believes was always there, but never had the opportunity to develop into something more.
For Denny, it was her mother, a dedicated businesswoman, who inspired her to pursue a career in business. As a college freshman, she witnessed impressive leadership and professionalism when her mother communicated with her co-workers and clients. This fueled her passion for her current focus on the human resources field.
“It’s important to be able to support professional women looking to further their education as well as young women studying business as undergraduates,” said Lisa Bertaina, ExpoMarketing’s President and co-owner. “We hope scholarships like those we have awarded today will help contribute in a small way to the movement of supporting women in leadership roles and inspire other companies to launch similar programs.”
