Mission Federal Credit Union Receives BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics
San Diego, CA, December 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) has named Mission Federal Credit Union as recipient of its prestigious Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, category 250-499 employees. The award recognizes Mission Fed for its strong commitment to integrity, customer service and community involvement.
Mission Fed is the largest, locally based financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, with more than $2.8 billion in assets, 28 local branches and more than 187,000 customers.
“We are delighted to accept the BBB Torch Award on behalf of our customers, community partners, employees and volunteer Board of Directors,” said Debra Schwartz, President and CEO of Mission Fed. “This award reinforces our reputation as an organization that is committed to serving our customers and giving back to the local community using ethical business practices. As a customer-owned financial institution, we conduct our business with integrity because it’s essential to who we are, what we do and how we do it. Customers rely on us to help them reach their financial goals, and the Torch Awards have given us a wonderful opportunity to share that message.”
For the past 18 years, the San Diego Better Business Bureau has hosted the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but the willingness and efforts of outstanding businesses to ensure that our marketplace remains fair and honorable. The Torch Awards program is open to all businesses and organizations that serve San Diego and/or Imperial County markets. Companies must be in good standing with the BBB; however BBB Accreditation is not a requirement for entry or consideration. Each year, one winner and up to two finalists in eight categories, varying by the size of the company, and one non-profit category, are presented with their own Torch Award.
“The Torch Awards allow the BBB to honor businesses that epitomize ethics and integrity,” said San Diego BBB President/CEO Sheryl Reichert. “These are the businesses that are doing the right thing for consumers in a time when so many others struggle to be accountable.”
