ArtistShare® Fan-Funded Recordings Receive Grammy® Nominations in The 58th Annual Grammy Awards
Fan-funded recordings by Maria Schneider and the Gil Evans Project nominated for Best Large Ensemble Albums and Best Improvised Solos. Maria Schneider’s collaboration with rock icon, David Bowie, receives Grammy® nomination for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.
New York, NY, December 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- ArtistShare® artist, Maria Schneider, has been nominated for three awards in the 58th Annual Grammy® Awards. Her new fan-funded recording, The Thompson Fields, has been nominated for Best Large Ensemble Album. Saxophonist, Donny McCaslin, has also been nominated for Best Improvised Solo on one of record’s tracks, “Arbiters of Evolution.” This album is the first recording in eight years to feature Maria Schneider’s critically acclaimed and Grammy® Award winning jazz orchestra. Maria has also nominated for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals, on “Sue (Or in a Season of Crime),” her dark and epic collaboration with rock icon, David Bowie.

The Gil Evans Project’s sophomore fan-funded release, Lines of Color, has been nominated for Best Large Ensemble Album. The record has been called “Impeccable” (New York Times) and “Another Truesdell triumph” (All About Jazz). It features incredible arrangements and compositions from the legendary Gil Evans, many of which had never been recorded or heard before. They were performed and recorded live at The Jazz Standard in New York. This Grammy® nomination will be the first for the BlueNote/ArtistShare partner label.
