Royal Oak Press Releases New Novel - Shadow Cell - by Joseph D'Antoni
Nazi medical experiments turn children into biological weapons using their own cells. The terrorist threat must be stopped in this standalone, fourth, exciting new novel in the Wade Hanna – covert intelligence series.
Pasadena, CA, December 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Joseph D’Antoni’s new spy thriller thrusts readers into a bold espionage journey to stop an Argentine mobster from completing his horrific biological experiments to weaponize children. The adventure begins when Wade’s handler and lover Megan Winslow disappears only to be found deep undercover as a lab technician in a mob controlled medical facility where orphan children are being injected to become the mobster’s instruments of destruction. Facing the overwhelming odds of a well-armed private army, Wade Hanna has little time to apply his unique skills as a black ops specialist to save Megan and the children.
While the science fiction genre has long been a staple of the literary world, readers and critics alike often cry out for narratives based on true science that don’t succumb to unreal assumptions and grandiose imagination. Thankfully, Joseph D’Antoni applies his forty-five years of experience as a forensic expert and extensive researcher to bring us this market gripping fourth novel in his covert intelligent series.
Shadow Cell is a fiction book based in the 1980s on real medical experiments previously conducted by the Nazis during WWII. It takes us on a journey of what those experiments might have produced with today’s technology. The author makes the believable account of what would happen if such secret research found its way to unscrupulous world powers unfriendly to America.
Synopsis:
Based on the evidence, Wade Hanna had reason to believe Megan was dead. With dogged determination and tracking skills learned in his Louisiana swamp Wade discovers Megan is not dead but on her own dangerous undercover mission for Army intelligence. Her medical training which made her cover story believable to the terrorist has now become life threatening. She faces likely discovery and torture if she doesn’t apply her bio-medical talents to the will of her mobster boss.
Wade’s single focus to save her soon becomes a suicide mission as Megan faces choices between the children’s lives and her own. Even with the help of Wade’s black ops European mentor Leopold, Wade has to cleverly think through every small step of his own survival to rescue her. He relies mostly on instincts to disguise himself among the friendly people he so desperately needs to help.
As explained by the author, Joseph D'Antoni, “Shadow Cell is not a story about a sleeper terrorist cell waiting to come alive within our shores. It’s about real cells in our body and how through technology they can and may in the future be manipulated. Children are particularly vulnerable in this story because they were exploited for their cell generating capacity as well as being ideal targets against weaknesses and loopholes in America’s adoption and immigration system.”
"If there is a secondary message for readers of Shadow Cell it is to urge them to become more vigilant. Question, understand and close weaknesses in our borders, internet and electronic systems we depend on and hold dear to our way of life but can be exploited by our enemies.”
D’Antoni will soon start working on the fifth novel in this series which is scheduled for release in 2016. Shadow Cell is available now on Amazon. You can follow the author on social media through his website. He has appeared on numerous syndicated shows and is available for interviews.
