Chicago, IL, January 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- As we approach the end of 2015, it also marks the end of the 10th anniversary year at Crais Management Group LLC. In the past 10 years the firm has completed over 50 projects with clients and proprietary ventures in industries from medical and healthcare to mobile technologies valued at over $500 million; skillsets and resources in business strategy, project management, product development, systems engineering, biomedical, software, info tech, and capitalization strategies.
With a network of experts, an in-house research library, analytic and modeling software tools, and other resources for innovation management, CMG LLC grew from offering just consulting services in the early years, to become a full service product research, design, development, and strategy firm for advisory and proprietary development serving clients and partners in the U.S. and Canada.
When it began in 2005, the challenge of the post Dot-Com bust environment was met by working with the newly emerging film and technology industries in Louisiana and other markets fueled by new policy for tax credits and government-sponsored business incentives and funding. CMG LLC led in these endeavors by working with legislatures on passage of tax credit and incentive legislation, advising industry partners, and becoming a thought leader in the field. The firm worked with many clients from film and digital media production to studio developers to film festivals.
Just as the Louisiana tax credit and angel investor legislation went into effect in the summer of 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast. In response to the devastation, representatives were on the ground immediately after the storm passed when New Orleans was still flooded, in the aftermath the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act was passed offering billions of dollars in financial and development incentives to businesses and ventures in the hurricane impacted areas of the gulf coast.
David Crais, president of CMG LLC, served on several recovery boards, was a frequent guest in the media referred to as the “Go Zone Guru” for his knowledge of the recovery plan and policy incentives offered. He went on to be a strategic advisor to many clients including partners in the Viacom/Nickelodeon theme park development in New Orleans where Crais won approval for $100,000,000 in Go Zone Bonds from the Industrial Development Board and city contract for the 52-acre park.
After development of the New Orleans Biomedical Distict and Bioinnovation Center, CMG LLC resumed its pre-Katrina activity in working with medical and technology startups, business turnarounds, and new product development. Crais, having been a leader in medical technology commercialization and entrepreneurship since the early 1990’s, led Crais Management Group in offering strategic advisory, product development, capital formation planning, and other services to clients in stem cell commercialization, regenerative medicine, rights management web platforms, mobile clinical app development, Nitinol medical devices, and health informatics and information systems.
At the close of 2015, CMG LLC has over 42 research and development portfolio projects active to date in medical technology, biotech, healthcare, value-based care, informatics, software engineering, mobile app and wearables, T-commerce, e-commerce, companion diagnostics, medical and functional foods, diagnostic imaging, IVD kit development, lab-on-a-chip, M2M, IoT, and Data Sciences.
David Crais has been honored many times in the past 10 years from his work with CMG LLC and in business and technology management. Noted as one of the “Top 100 in Technology” by Silicon Bayou News in 2012 & 2013, listed as an “Innovator of the Year” by City Business Magazine in 2006, 2007, 2009, for various projects, recognized by the Downtown Development District for development activities in New Orleans, asked by BioHouston and BioTexas to attend the BIO show in Chicago and San Diego with them for medical industry development in Texas, and competing in codeathon challenges with Health 2.0, Health Datapalooza, and winning a national codeathon in Washington D.C. with Kaiser Healthcare and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for obesity management software apps.
CMG LLC conceived and designed along with Dr. Peter Sheehan, the Sheehan Clinic, later known as Diabetes Assessment and Management Centers of America, a telemedicine clinic for the diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes complications in mobile or clinic settings. CMG LLC was an advisor and developer for Pamlab founder Sam Camp for several medical ventures in personalized medicine, medical foods, ACO management, companion diagnostics, EMR adoption, and others until Nestle Medical Sciences acquired Pamlab in April 2013.
CMG LLC conceived and created the business model for the first physician led Accountable Care Organization in US after adoption of ACA ACO regulations in November 2011. Sam Camp now owns the company, Physicians Proviso Inc.
These are just a small sample of the many projects CMG LLC completed in its 10 year history, with a growing pipeline of business and clients as it heads into 2016 and beyond. With Crais Management Group’s focus on policy-driven, enterprise level, national and global scale growth ventures and projects, the future holds many new opportunities to continue finding solutions and strategies for clients in the global shift to digital value-chain platforms and businesses, mobile technology adoption, and continuing change in healthcare, medical, and society.
