Children's Fiction Novel "Jodie Broom and the Book of the Rose" Receives Official Selection Honors in the New Apple Indie E-Book Awards
Dayton, OH, January 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- "Jodie Broom and the Book of the Rose" by Julie Hodgson, illustrated by Nuno Alexandre Vieira, receives Official Selection Honors in the Children's category of the 2015 New Apple Summer eBook Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing.
Book Synopsis
The story of Jodie, a young girl living in a time well past the days where physical books have been outlawed. However, being in school, Jodie has a "library card" that allows her to travel through time as a means of learning and doing research. This brings in many adventures and interesting characters from history but what Jodie is most interested in is collecting books from those travels and bringing them back to her time. She hides these books at her friend Otso's house. In this book, Jodie is off in search of a particular book, The Book of the Rose, that someone else doesn't want her to find.
About the Author
Julie Hodgson aged 53 now lives in Sweden with her husband John, has travelled extensively all over the world writing for children. Working on the children’s page of the Kuwaiti times for about a year .Just before the first Gulf conflict in 1989. And the story tellers page for the Dumfries and Galloway standard, and the press and journal Banff Standard in Scotland plus numerous other papers and short story books to her credit, she loves to write and gives most of her earnings from her books to her favourite charities.She was recently on Radio Swedens, P4 being their correspondent for the week. Writing is her life and her passion, writing for children is the cherry on the cake.

The New Apple Summer eBook Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing was established to honor the creative achievements of the unsung books fighting for their place within the digital publishing world. Any English language book published within the last three years, currently available for sale by an independent author or small press that met the Awards' guidelines was eligible for entry. One book was chosen in each category as the Medalist Winner receiving the highest honors. In addition, the judges were permitted to choose up to three Official Selections for category distinction.
