Second Helpings Names Director of Culinary Job Training
Indianapolis, IN, January 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Second Helpings, the food rescue, hunger relief and culinary job training organization in Central Indiana, announced today the hiring of Chef Vincent Kinkade as Director of Culinary Job Training.
As the new Director of Culinary Job Training, Chef Kinkade will assume the role of preparing students in the Second Helpings Culinary Job Training program which trains disadvantaged adults for meaningful and sustainable jobs in foodservice. He will also lead Second Helpings’ initiative to expand the job training program to broaden its response to both student and employer needs.
Chef Kinkade brings more than 30 years of hospitality management and culinary experience, including serving as a program chair for Ivy Tech Community College, corporate chef for Illinois-based U.S. Foods Inc. and most recently as dean of Academic affairs for The Chef's Academy, the culinary division of Harrison College.
"Chef Kinkade has been a friend of Second Helpings for years, often serving as a guest instructor or graduation speaker for previous classes," said Jennifer Vigran, CEO of Second Helpings. "His passion for culinary instruction and compassion for others who want to change their lives in our culinary program ensures Second Helpings will continue to graduate talented adults with bright futures."
Chef Kinkade holds two associates degrees in Culinary Arts, one from Ivy Tech Community College and another from New England Culinary Institute. Kinkade also holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Hanover College; master of business administration from the University of Indianapolis; and holds a number of certifications in his 30 years in the culinary industry.
