DormCo Presents Must Have Dorm Items for a College Dorm Checklist

DormCo provides a list of the necessities college students will need for move-in day.

Buffalo, NY, January 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Moving into a Residence Hall room requires a lengthy college dorm checklist of items that must not be left at home. There are a lot of things to think about when packing up to go to college that it can be easy to leave some things behind. However, there are a few dorm essentials the college student will want to make sure are not left behind and are packed up for move-in day.

Living in a college dorm room also requires the college student to use the community bathroom on the assigned Residence Hall Floor. The college student will have been used to having a private bathroom at home, which makes this a new experience for the college student. When the college student is sharing a community bathroom, shower sandals and shower caddies are necessary items to have. The shower sandals will protect the student’s feet from the shower and bathroom floor and also have textured grips to help prevent falls. These can be worn in the shower and are also handy for the college gym or pool. The college student also will not be able to leave shampoo bottles and other bathroom accessories in the dorm bathroom. A shower caddy makes carrying all of those bottles a lot easier and will prevent the student from dropping these bottles in the hallway on the way to the bathroom.

The college student will have the dorm room door locked and shut when not in the dorm room, however, it is necessary to take preventative measures to ensure valuable dorm items stay in the college student’s room. A small safe that can be easily hidden or attached to a large immovable object in the room is essential. This small dorm essentials item can hold extra credit cards, passport, tablet, and more when not in use, allowing the college student to have peace of mind when not in the dorm room.

Another dorm item that is necessary for peace of mind is a small first aid kit. The college student does not need to go overboard with supplies for the first aid kit, but it is necessary to have some basic items such as bandages, pain reliever, alcohol cleaning pads for basic scrapes, and antibiotic ointment. These items may not be used throughout the college year, but having a small first aid kit somewhere in the dorm room is necessary.

There are plenty of items the college student will have to add to a college dorm checklist throughout the packing process. With a lot of items that are needed for move-in day, it can be easy to forget a few items here and there. However, some items such as shower sandals and shower caddies are essentials the college student should not be without. To avoid moving in without these and other items, it is recommended to start making a college dorm checklist with necessary college supplies well in advance of move-in day.
