Dr. Ashleigh Levison Joins Retinal Consultants of Arizona
Phoenix, AZ, January 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Retinal Consultants of Arizona (RCA) – one of the nation’s leading Retina & Vitreous clinical research and patient treatment facilities – welcomes Dr. Ashleigh Levison to its team of world-class ophthalmologists specializing in diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula. Dr. Levison will serve patients throughout Arizona as part of RCA’s network of more than 35 locations statewide.

Dr. Levison has trained at some of the finest education & medical institutes in the nation including the University of Miami, the University of California San Francisco, and the Cleveland Clinic. Her Fellowship training in Uveitis - a general term describing a group of inflammatory diseases that produces swelling and destroys eye tissues – in addition to being a vitreo-retinal surgeon, adds a unique background of clinical and surgical care to Arizona.
About Dr. Ashleigh Levison
After growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona and attending Phoenix Country Day School, Dr. Levison, graduated summa cum laude from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA where she was elected to join the national honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. She attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she was selected to join Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.
After finishing an internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Levison completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of California San Francisco. She then completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic and stayed for an additional fellowship in uveitis.
Dr. Levison has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on retina and uveitis. She has been involved in several studies and has presented the results of her research at multiple national scientific meetings. Dr. Levison is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The Association For Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
