Zonta Douglas County Scholarship Winner is Studying to be a PA

The former Lutheran High School and University of Nebraska Lincoln graduate is attending PA school in Texas.

Parker, CO, January 16, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Former Parker resident Taylor Case plans to graduate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Master of Physician Assistant studies program, Dallas, next December.

She graduated from Lutheran High School in Parker in 2010. Julie, Taylor’s mom, was a member of Zonta Douglas County and encouraged her daughter to apply for the organization’s Young Women in Public Affairs college scholarship. The Zonta Club awards the annual scholarship to an outstanding young woman whose efforts to give to others and their interest in future Public Service careers, set them well apart from their peers.

Taylor was the winner of the Zonta scholarship in 2010 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Health Sciences.

”I knew in high school that I wanted to work in healthcare but wasn’t certain about what field or profession I wanted to pursue,” Taylor explains. “By my sophomore year, I knew I wanted to be a physician’s assistant. The scholarship I received from Zonta helped me purchase needed books and supplies for my classes. I am extremely grateful for their support.”

Zonta Douglas County raises money annually for a college scholarship and to support charities that help women and children. “Our signature fundraising event is our Trivia Night, which this year is April 9 at Kirk Hall,” says Rhonda Bolich-Lampo, Trivia chair. “It’s a fun event where teams of six adults compete in eight rounds of trivia and enjoy dinner, beverages and door prizes. Attendees and sponsors help us raise money to support deserving students like Taylor.”
