Sheraton Samui Resort organize two events in support of local special needs schools
Koh Samui, Thailand, January 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Since the launch of Sheraton Samui Resort on March 31, 2015, guests have been taking advantage of the “family friendly” concept at the 141 room resort along the pristine white sands of Chaweng Noi Beach. With a large number of connecting rooms available, the largest beach front kids club in Koh Samui, 24-hour security and kids all-inclusive dining options, there is plenty to keep the little one’s safely entertained while the parents relax in the sun. This family focus extends to the local community, where the resort has recently hosted two events in support of local special needs schools.
On Dec. 23 2015, working in conjunction with the “Sisters on Samui”, children from three schools for underprivileged children were welcomed to the official opening of StarKid kids club. The launch event was well attended with over 45 children and 10 accompanying teachers enjoying Christmas party food, games, a clown show and a visit from Santa Claus. Gifts were presented to the children, including an exclusive StarKid cuddly monkey mascot. StarKid kids club, set in a prime beachfront location, has a daily schedule of activities, crafts, games and a wooden adventure walkway over giant rocks to spark the imaginations of younger guests.
To mark Children’s day on Jan. 08 2016, Sheraton Samui Resort hosted lunch and activities at the Samui Learning Centre for Special Needs. Staff from the resort presented the students with stationary sets and toys as well as a musical show with many of the students joining in for impromptu singing and dancing performances. “We opened the school six years ago, and my two daughters are actually students here,” said Mrs. Dalin Ruangaisoon, the founder of the school. “We have five teachers and thirteen students and are currently in the process of building a new purpose built school. We still require 3 million Thai Baht to finish the project and would greatly appreciate any further donations.” Proceeds from the annual Run to Give fun run in October 2015, which was supported by all the Starwood Hotels and Resorts on the island, were donated to the Samui Learning Centre for Special Needs and anyone wishing to contribute to support the fabulous work carried out by the school can email Khun Dalin at sns.samui@gmail.com or visit http://www.samui.autisticthai.com for more information.
