St. Louis-Based the Travelers Protective Association Presents Grant to Member

St. Louis, MO, January 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Travelers Protective Association (TPA), a fraternal benefit society, recently awarded Barnesville, Penn. resident Patricia Hartman the Homer T. Wilson Fund grant of $1,000 to help pay for bills associated with her knee replacement. Hartman works at the Avenues Adult Training for the Handicap in Mahanoy City, Penn.

The Homer T. Wilson Fund provides emergency financial aid and is designated for indigent members, widows, widowers and orphans. Hartman has been a TPA member of Post Q in Mahanoy City for the past four years.

“Since Patricia will not receive sick pay or qualify for unemployment, she definitely needs assistance during her three months off work,” said TPA’s Chief Administrative Office Albert M. Shoemaker, Jr. “Our grant will alleviate the burden of her financial situation while giving her the means and time to recuperate.”

Founded in 1890, TPA’s national headquarters is located at 2041 Exchange Dr. in St. Charles, Mo. The association is licensed in 29 states and has over 24,000 members, which includes more than 17,000 members who have been a part of the organization for over 25 years. TPA offers fraternalism to its members, as well as participates in safety projects and community service. The association provides accident, disability and death benefits to both its members and their beneficiaries.

TPA also offers the Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired, which has allocated more than $2 million to approximately 5,000 recipients. The association’s involvement is on both a local and national level and has adopted the Children Have An iDentity (CHAD) sticker program as a National Safety Program.
