Keller Williams Helps Local Family Raise Over $15,000 for Service Dog for 5 Year Old Girl
Allentown, PA, January 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Keller Williams Real Estate’s Allentown office has helped to raise funds for 4 Paws for Ability for the benefit of Ellie Stein. Ellie’s mother, Morgan, has been the part-time Director of First Impressions for over four years. With the help of the agents, staff, and KW Cares, they have surpassed their goal of $15,000 in less than six months.
4 Paws for Ability is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that raises and trains service dogs for children with disabilities and wounded veterans. They provide service dogs to families around the world, and pride themselves on their excellent training, canine care, and placement standards.
“We couldn’t have done it without our KWA family,” claims Stein, “I’m sure we would have eventually met our goal, but it would have taken us over a year. Now, not only are we finished fundraising for Ellie’s dog, but KW Cares, Keller Williams’ in-house charity, is providing all of the funds we need for travel!”
It takes over a year to raise and train a service dog, so in August 2017 the Steins will travel to 4 Paws’ facility in Xenia, OH for a two week training class, where they will meet Ellie’s new best friend for the first time. Her dog will be trained for tracking, meaning it will be her own personal search and rescue dog, as well as tethering, behavior interruption, and comforting.
“When you join Keller Williams, whether as an agent or as staff, you become part of a family, and our family takes care of their own,” declared Tai DeSa, Team Leader at Keller Williams Allentown, “We are thrilled to be able to help Morgan’s family keep her little girl safe any way we can.”
