Senior Downsizing Experts and Cedar Bluff Assisted Living Present Free Seminar in Mansfield for Adult Children of Aging Parents
Equipping, Empowering, and Educating Families to Better Manage Late-Life Moves
Arlington, TX, January 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- As the population ages, thousands of Dallas-Fort Worth families are faced with the challenges of assisting aging parents with relocating into more manageable or supportive housing.
To assist DFW caregivers and families in dealing with the complexities involved in late-life moves, Ingrid and John Sullivan of Senior Downsizing Experts are partnering with Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care to provide the free seminar, “Moving Mom and Dad: 5 Common Mistakes Adult Children of Aging Parents Make and How to Avoid Them.” The casual and interactive educational forum will take place on January 28 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care campus at 354 Matlock Road in Mansfield.
The seminar will include a presentation of the five most common mistakes adult children of aging parents make when moving their parents, including solutions and strategies for avoiding such pitfalls. Topics include: Effective conversation starters; Locating local supportive housing options; Finding and hiring qualified service providers; and Insuring adequate documentation for assisting transitioning aging parents.
“As a DFW Realtor specializing in the 55+ real estate market, it is my goal to insure that older adults and their families are adequately equipped and aware of all the senior living options and resources available to them. Adult children often find themselves making hard decisions, while trying to navigate in uncharted territory. Through seminars like this one, I hope to provide helpful insights and useful information about the relocation and real estate processes, so families can focus on what is most important – their mature loved ones,” says Ingrid. “Late life moves, especially those involving complex medical situations, can be overwhelming, but fortunately there are people who can help. Families don’t have to carry all the burden.”
To register for the free seminar, please call (817) 635-1043 or visit www.dallasfortworthseniorliving.com/events.
