Career Step is proud to announce that Revenue Cycle Instructor and Client Manager Cari Greenwood, RHIA, CCS, CPC, was selected to assist in writing updated test questions for AHIMA certification exams.
Provo, UT, January 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is proud to announce that Revenue Cycle Instructor and Client Manager Cari Greenwood, RHIA, CCS, CPC, was selected by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to contribute to the process of updating test questions for the organization’s various industry certification exams. This is the third time Ms. Greenwood has participated in this process.
“AHIMA updates its test questions each year, and my participation along with that of other experienced, certified coders helps ensure the tests remain relevant,” said Ms. Greenwood. “This question-writing event with AHIMA also provides Career Step insight into the certification process. It gives us a view into the education we should be providing and the format of the test questions. We are then able to provide our students testing experiences that more closely mirror the certification exams.”
Ms. Greenwood bring 12 years of coding experience to AHIMA’s event, and her participation is perfectly in line with Career Step’s mission of providing career-focused education. She was first invited to attend in 2015. After applying for the opportunity and submitting her resume, she was selected to attend and has been invited back for each event since. The January 2016 event was her third time participating.
“It is thrilling to be able to share Career Step expertise through Cari’s participation, ensuring that AHIMA’s exams are relevant and focus on adult education,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “Our goal at Career Step is to provide our students education that will prepare them for the certification exams—and therefore the workplace—and AHIMA has reviewed our programs and confirmed that Career Step equips its students to meet this goal and is a leader in medical coding education.”
Career Step has offered online medical coding education since 2000. The company is currently the education provider for some of the largest and most respected names in healthcare, and its medical coding students report passing rates of the national industry certification exams that are nearly 20 percentage points higher than the national average.
