Positive Year for Long Term Care Insurance Forecasts Association Director
A positive forecast for long term care insurance was shared today by the executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.
Los Angeles, CA, January 28, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The coming year should be a positive time period in terms of long term care insurance sales forecasts a leading industry expert who heads the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.
"The outlook for 2016 is positive and I am optimistic that while change will continue to occur, the coming year will be good," shares Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, a national insurance trade group. Slome shared his comments speaking before industry sales leaders following his return from a visit to Patagonia.
Slome forecast an increase n the number of individuals who will be seeking and purchasing long term care insurance. "My biggest concern is stock market volatility or a massive stock market correction which will reduce the number of investment advisors discussing long term care insurance options with their clients," Slome adds. "If consumers see their portfolios dropping 10 percent or more, they worry and that's not a time investment pros are likely to bring up a topic like LTC planning, no matter how important or timely it is."
Slome points to higher interest rates being implemented by the Federal Reserve as a positive sign for the industry. "Higher interest rates are bad news for those looking to take out a mortgage or a car loan but they are good news for many insurance products, including long term care insurance, where insurers look to invest premiums in order to pay policyholder claims in future years," the national long term care insurance expert explains.
