Futarque and MStar Release Operator Friendly Android
Zhubei, Taiwan, January 28, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Danish design house, Futarque, today released its Android software development kit (SDK) aimed at TV operators who want a reliable customisable Android solution.
The SDK is running on the MStar MSO9280 SoC which is a high power ARM based STB System on Chip (SoC) with 4K HEVC video decoder.
The solution uniquely has a full Compliance Test Specification (CTS) test pass and integrated Widevine DRM which together giving a clear indication of the software’s readiness for Operator use. In addition it has optional DVB-T2/C tuner available now and DVB-S2 versions in design. The Tuner is fully integrated into the Android user interface to give a seamless TV experience. Futarque has also implemented SAT-IP control into the Android TV application which means the device can network to remote tuners.
The first product using this SDK is the Rho STB which is demonstrated on the MStar Booth at the Moscow CSTB show today. The Rho board is a small but powerful multimedia device aimed at STB makers who want to quickly produce a high quality reliable Android product. This board is available in high volume off the shelf today ready to be incorporated directly into your final product.
Another variant of the Rho board is also available to hobbyists and developers who want to take advantage of the mature software to develop their own Android based products. This version of the Rho board is available through www.homekitforandroid.com.
